12th Annual Maroon Edition Groundbreaking
Groundbreaking ceremonies were held Monday, August 3, for the 12th annual Maroon Edition Home. The Maroon Edition Home is a special collaboration between Starkville Habitat and Mississippi State University. This year’s Maroon Edition home will be called the Matt Savage Maroon Edition in honor of Captain Matt Savage, U.S. Army, a former Starkvillian who was seriously injured in a traffic accident in 2018. Captain Savage’s attorney, Wayne Rogers, made a generous donation to Starkville Habitat in Matt’s honor.
Congratulations to homeowners-to-be Chadrick Robinson and Santana Turnipseed and their children Kimona, Harmony, Rolando, Caitlyn, and Chadstyn!
Dedication of 60 Azalea Lane
Today, Starkville Area Habitat for Humanity dedicated the home on 60 Azalea Lane. Family partner Courtnay Smith and her family will now be moving into their new home.
Pictured is Amanda Henry (left) presenting Courtnay Smith (right) with a bible.
This home was built amid the COVID-19 pandemic and has overcome the many hardships associated with the virus. We are so grateful to everyone who has helped make this home dedication possible. Pictured below are some of the volunteers who built the home receiving appreciation t-shirts.
